New Box Design For Solids

27 November 2004 - 12:20 PM

Anyone have any feelings/thoughts about the fact that each and every box containing a solid is now exactly the same? That just occurred to me when the English Emblem(s) arrived...same box. Strongwater...same box. Leiber...same box.

I did not get any of the General Distribution...are the boxes the same? Navy and Gold?

It's not a big deal...I'm just curious. I sort of liked the different shapes for the different solids, even though they did away with the Cylinder style.

Solids For Overseas

12 July 2004 - 12:12 PM

Just spoke with Micky from Estee Lauder Manhasset and she gave me some wonderful information for our overseas friends.

Estee Lauder Corp. has given permission for orders to be taken and solids/compacts to be shipped directly from the United States to collectors overseas.

I would imagine you can place advance orders, but that's probably up to the individual stores. At least now it's a little easier to purchase the one's you love, even if they never get to your Country. This might also make a difference in the price you pay. Micky also stated you will not have to pay tax. Am not sure if that means your VAT or what...you would have to check with her on that one. unsure.gif

A note of thanks to Micky for working so hard to have this happen! And perhaps Estee Lauder does read this board after all! smile.gif

Roselyn Gerson

13 June 2004 - 12:14 PM

Much has been said about the convention, the solids, the people, etc. However, I do feel it's worth mentioning that Roselyn was there and looked wonderful. Her husband was, of course, the photographer supreme.

However, on Sunday morning at the Brunch in the Forum Shop, it was announced that Roselyn's sister had passed away unexpectedly and they had to leave early and fast.

My apologies for not mentioning it sooner, but what with the relief at getting home, the unpacking, trying to post as much as possible about the convention, am afraid we all sort of slipped up on this one.

Even though it's been a week, I would like to publicly extend my sympathy to Roselyn and her family at this very sad time, and hope she is doing ok. My heart goes out to her...
