Tough Decision

31 January 2004 - 04:44 PM

Hello all friends on this site,

I discovered this site when it was practically brand new. I had been a compact collector and then had stumbled into the world of "solids". I thought that I was really a trendsetter in collecting, until I found out that several price guides had already been published!!! I had fun and bought what I could afford, mainly at flea markets. However, my acquisitions were small and often not Estee Lauder.

I have enjoyed reading the posts on this site .Even though I am not in the same league as most of you, it has been fun to see how people from all over the world have become a collecting family. Ann and Ken, I have admired your wonderful displays.I am grateful to Lisa and her husband, Jack for all the work they have done. My husband and I too share a love of collecting. He collected barber related items and I collected vanity items. We had such fun scouring flea markets! However our life has taken on new dimensions and obligations. We are selling some of the items we had such fun collecting. It is time for these objects to have new homes.

With reluctance(because it is my favorite), I have decided to sell my 1978 Ginger Jewel pendant. Page 58 in the 1967-2001 book. No Box, empty of Cinnibar. The cording and tassel are black. The one in the book shows taupe cording. It is in very good condition. It is magnificent. I could list it on eBay but I thought...No!...the true Estee lovers deserve first dibs. I have never seen this pendant for sale anywhere. I know many of you purchase all the new solids but I am sure that there are some of you who want these vintage EL beauties.

Email me (jmct47@aol.com)and I will send you photos. Make an offer. I will sell it to the highest bidder from this site. I will keep this process open until Feb.14th, Valentine's Day. If you just want to make a final offer, that's fine. If you want me to tell you if someone has made a higher offer, I'll do that on request. I promise to be honest and fair. I want my Ginger Jewel to have a special place in someone's collection.
