Can anyone give me a rough idea of how many solids were produced by the following:

Avon
Houbigant
Max Factor
Corday
Florenza

I know there are lots of other makers but these were off the top of my head. [Eek!]
Who else am I missing? [Confused]

Hi Lisa,

I count at least 61 different Corday and 57 different Max factor. I do not have all of them but that will give you a rough idea.

Houbigant-25

Avon - didn't count , boxed up because they were starting to look better than the new EL's. [Silly]

Florenza is tricky because they made them for other companies to put in fragrance so most of the ones you see that are signed Florenza are
really pill boxes.

Others - Mary Chess ,Charles Revson , Fuller
Brush, Helena Rubinstien, Revlon, Schiaparelli and my very favorite St. John. And many more.

Most all of the large cosmetic companies made a solid and still do. They are just not marketed like EL.

And Marilyn Miglin and Boucheron and Hermes and Patou and and and -- though most of them have just a few to compliment their perfumes and as a give away or Purchase with purchase.

Hi Lisa

Michaela has a real great database of of all marks, which made solids. It is really uncanny and nearly unbelievably, how many Parfum Companys companies solids.

She can probably give you most favorablely information over it!!! You will be realy very surprised!!!

During the week she is often on the way. I'm sure she will announce herself, if she comes back.

Hi liliane,

That would be great. [Big Grin]

I would love to have some more information on Myrna Pons solids. Only have 10 and know there are more. I didn't buy the witches and now wish I did.

Hurry back Michaela.

Hi All...

Well, now I'm eager to hear more on these other designer's pieces. Ann, I've heard of Mary Chess and seen a few on e-bay. Could you please tell us more about St. John? I don't believe I've seen or heard about it.

Thanks.....

Mimi

Oh good grief!! The St Johns are wonderful...no wonder they are a favorite of yours!

Do you see many of these on E-bay? Any history that you can share with us, Teacher?

I just love this.... Thanks for these beautiful photos [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

Thank you Ken...

It's incredible the amount of knowledge on perfumes on this site. I had no idea there were so many different companies with solids. Most of them I've never heard of...Pat
