Hi,
Wow, I had no idea people collected these! I've had a blue enamel solid perfume for as long as I can remember (since I was a little girl). I think my grandmother gave it to me). I've recently learned it was from 1973. I have wanted one with the perfume in it for ages, and on a whim I checked ebay last night. I couldnt believe how many of these exist! Anyway, I bid on a lot of three solids, only one with perfume (the blue one) and purchased them for $33. I think that's a good deal. Can anyone tell me http://cgi.ebay.com/...2139551771&rd=1 what these are worth? I am going to try to post a pic...dont really know how. Thanks so much.

Hello Knash,

Welcome to the site, we are glad to have you.
I would suggest you get Roselyn Gersons book (the Estee Lauder solid perfume compact collection 1967-2001. It is a wonderful resource.
The three solids you won at auction are (top to bottom) Keepsake 1973 average price= $23.00, next is Regency 1974 average price= $23.50 and last is the Solid perfume compact 1968 this is the one that we all see over and over again! You can get this one on ebay for as little as $5.00 [Eek!]
Over all for all three you got a good deal for $33.00!!! [Big Grin]

Thanks Lisa. It seems that the ebay prices are FAR better than other places. I really only wanted the Keepsake 1973 blue one...so the other ones a bonus for me! I fear I have just started collecting.

I bought the book on amazon for $12.99. Can't wait to read it.

Lisa,
Sorry to bug you again..

I noticed that the Regency sells for $150 on this site. Is that because it is in a box? I'm thinking about reselling the Regency to try to get money to buy a kitty cat one! (Please forgive my complete lack of knowledge of the correct names for these lovely compacts!). Do people collect the powder compacts too??

Karen,

Yes, it is $150 because it is in the box. The box, perfume and sticker on the bottom of the solid all increase the price. [Wink]
And some people do collect the powder compacts as well.
