No Estee Lauder solids in California Cosmetics Company Store
Posted 23 July 2002 - 03:59 PM
Thought I would pass this information on to my fellow Estee Lauder solid collectors, dealers, etc.
I was told when I went to the Cosmetics Company Store in Cazabon/Desert Hills (this past Saturday) that there will not be anymore Estee Lauder solids in these California retail outlets?
According to the manager there was a problem with a customer wanting to buy more than $300.00 worth of solids at one time (I guess there was a limit) Anyway, the person got so upset that they caused a big scene and apparently called New York on the manager. Furthermore, the same customer did the same thing at the Camarillo store in California.
As a result of the episode the regional manager of the California stores pull all of the solids.
I was also told by the manager that at one time these solids were discounted 20% then it went to 10% so I really missed out. Last, the manager told me that if they ever did receive any solids that they would be offered at the same prices as the retail stores.
Does anyone else have any information about this?
I was so disappointed because I had driven quite a distance to get to the store. Of course I called ahead of time but I was told that the employees didn't always tell you over the phone, if they had the solids. So I begged my sister and we made the trip. I guess I will have to be satisfied with my boyfriend's trip to the Estee Lauder store in Vegas. He is going to pick-up the picnic basket, zebra and cherry pie for me.
That's it...I would love to hear from others, especially if you live in California.

on July 8 we were in Carlsbad (Calif.) They
had lots of solids there.. polar bear, ferris
wheel, cherry pie, seal, (I should have written
everything down) anyway, they also had saks 5th
ave hatbox and neiman marcus minitures (like
charms.) The saks hatbox charm had small red
and black rhinestones around edge. Neiman bag
was plain. The prices of solids were very
reasonable... ferris wheel was $350 .. the only
one I enquired about.
They would not tell me over the phone what they had. (But so glad I went).
Hope I have helped someone...

I just got back from Carlsbad here is what they have (this is the complete list)
Slice of strawberry cake
Parasol (I bought this one)
Pleasures kitten playing with yarn
King Charles dog (2001)
Statue of liberty
Sak's Fifth Avenue shopping bag
Teddy bear with wagon (full dist. one)
Kittens on tartan pillow
Polar bear with rhinestones (I got this one, very nice in person, never thought I would like this one, now I got to get the snowman(LOL))
Champagne bucket (2000)
Ferris Wheel ($360.00) very nice in person
Cinderella coach ($300.00)
They also have all of the touch-on perfume sticks by Estee Lauder discounted, except for Intuition.
Does any know where I can get the touch-on perfume stick for Intuition?
I also bought the perfume solid stick for Bobbi Brown (I collect all types of solids)
I hope this helps my fellow Estee Lauder solid collectors, esp. if you live in California.
P.s. The store manager informed me that I could only buy $300.00 worth of Estee Lauder solids.
P.s.s. The Carlsbad store is opened 10am-8:00pm Monday-Sunday.

Thanks for the list, I'm sure this will be useful to a lot of people.
All of the lines carried in the CCS are owned by Lauder: Bobbi Brown, Origins, Mac, Clinique and Jane to name a few.
You can find the Intituition touch on stick on www.esteelauder.com for $25.

It was my pleasure to list the solids in Carlsbad. I think it great that collectors can purchase solids from Estee Lauder at a reasonable price.
Also thanks for the information about the Intuition perfume stick.
