Hello All,

I was wondering how and where everyone displays their solids. I have a three wall vitrines and one tabletop vitrine. I need more room though! [Eek!]

Here is a link to Horchow (part of Neiman Marcus) they have some great vitrines.

Hi Lisa,
I have an all glass cabinet.. 18" square. I had
plastic shelves 3" wide made in a U shape,
supported by 2" plexiglass. This gives me 3 more
levels per shelf. I reckon I can get 500 solids
in it. So far I have over 300 quite comfortably.
and when the 4 halogen lights are on... its
beeuutiful! (about the shape its more square than
U)

Wow! Lorraine,
Sound great, did you have it specially made for you? I have grown out of my vitrines. [Frown]

Not the cabinet, but the plastic shelves I
measured the cabinet and had them cut to fit the
inside of the glass walls perfectly in one piece. They rest on 4 (per shelf) 2"hix3"widex1"thick plexiglass blocks. Two shelves between each level.
Any plastic company can do this. If you have a cabinet that is not square, you can have a piece of plastic made for the back of it and simply have the ends bent say 3" I=====I (pretty hard to draw it.) This has saved me buying 2 more
big cabinets, and I can have everything in groups.

Don't forget to only use the lights on special occasions because they will fade [Eek!]

Thanks for the tip 2Sweet. I have them on quite a bit, and didn't check for fading. Just checked to see if perfume was suffering, as in softening or discolouration. Which ones did you have that faded?? (Better get me flashlights out)
