I came across this Lauder necklace and know nothing about it except that the tag says it is from 1976. It is more of a bottle than a solid (I think)& it is faux ivory carved in a flower motif.

Lisa: in regards to the faux ivory bottle on chain you have; liquid perfume was in it. They made it in red as well because i have both the ivory and deep red one. women wore them around their neck and touched up their fragrance as needed...I believe they made them just in that time frame of early 70's. mine open and have a dabber type stem connected to the cap so as to apply the fragrance without pouring it on. hope this has been helpful...take care.

Hi Lisa !
If you like to see the red version you can see it on this website.http://www.heavenstobetsy.com/
But I don`t know if you can buy it there.
I asked her about 3 times for the little green
Estee Lauder tutle and get no answer.
Maybe she has forgotten to cancel this website.

Greetings !

Michaela

Hello all!

I have another solid question: if anyone has the 1975 "silvertone moon-bean" could you please let me know if there are any markings on it and is it on a silk cord or silver chain?

Thanks

There is one that looks like the Estee but has small holes that a silver chain goes into the back of the solid. The Estee solid(Moon-bean, page 49) has loops on the back for the cord. They look alot alike, but the unmarked solid is smaller and I do not know who made it. The perfume in the unmarked solid is yellowish and I am not familar with the scent.

Ann & Ken,

Thanks for the great information about the moon-bean. That would be great if you can find out about the imposter. I will try to do the same.
