Just wondering if this is a local story or not. On the news today and tonight there was a story that 3 people were suing EL for discrimination in the Melville offices. Supposedly and EL supervisor told this guy who had stage 4 cancer that he was not going to get promoted bc he was, "going to die anyway." Another employee worked there for 10 years and had not been promoted or given a raise. The final plantiff is saying that she was sent porn email from higher ups and some was placed on her desk.
I don't know what to think. Maybe the people that did this to the now former employees (one quit and the other two were let go) are just a few bad apples. I was quite stunned to hear something like this happened especially at EL. EL released a statement saying that they do not comment on ongoing litigation.
I'm still going to collect solids and buy other products from EL, but I just wanted to see what your thoughts were and if it's just a local story.

Haven't heard about this but I guess it happens a lot with big corporations. Either way there are always two sides to a story.

Lisa,
I think you're right. I really couldn't believe my ears. I hope that EL isn't guilty.

Lisa's right..there are always two sides to every story...but given the way the EL acts towards its customers...I wouldn't be surprised if their allegations are true. [Puzzled]
