Excellent report, Lisa! [Big Grin] The next best thing to being there. I loved browsing the tables of solids - great pics, Jack. So good of you both to get this news to us 'live' [Silly]
It looks great!

Just got back from the dinner.

Jay Strongwater's talk was amazing. We were very impressed with his detailed step by step description on how he designs and produces his work. He had examples of his sketches and drawings as well as molds and even his very early necklaces.

He also gave a handout with the technical drawings and photos of each of the new solids he has produced this year for Estee Lauder.

The Estee Lauder presentation was similar to the information we received at the IPBA last month. No real new news to report. There were a couple changes to the solids we saw. The Marlin appeared to have some new stones added to him on his tail and fin and the Showgirl had some new stones added as well.

We'll have some new photos and info to add later.

Roselyn did a great job in getting these presentations and information for the Compact Collectors Club.

Stay tuned, more to come.

Hi Lisa:

You're doing a great job keeping us informed and up to date! The prices you quoted seem quite fair and realistic, with the exception of the Carousel and especially the Ballet Slippers...wow...that's way too high!

As with everyone else, wish I could be there...hopefully next year. Will look for some Cosmetic Co. stores when I get to Chicago, then find a pc and let you know if anything is available. Not as exciting as LV, for sure!

Have fun in the casino's...Luck Be a Lady!

Had a great time today at the champagne brunch at the Estee Lauder boutique in Caesars Palace.

We were each greeted with a bag containing the puppy in a tub solid and a printout of all this years new solids. Then we were offered a wonderful selection of fresh fruit, jumbo muffins, bagels, coffee and mimosas.

The inside of the store was also beautifully decorated with fresh flowers and some vintage showgirl headresses. Some older solids and powder compacts were on display along with all the 2003 solids.

I have to say it was very nice of Estee Lauder and Roselyn to organise such a delightful event.

Photos have been added and can be seen on the front page or just click here.

Lisa and Jack,
Thanks so much for all the great photos and reporting. You really did make us feel like we were right there with you! I just love the picture of the showgirl holding the EL Showgirl. I think I'm going to have to add her to my collection. I'm glad you and Jack finally hit it at the tables. How lucky you are to meet Jay Strongwater in person. Great photo of the two of you.

But I don't think I so a picture of you and Jack?? [Confused] [Confused] [Confused] Too bad about that.

Take care,
Barb

Lisa and Jack,
What a wonderful job on the convention. I felt like I was with you also. The pics are just great and all you needed was a headress an outfit and of coures the shoes and you could be a showgirl, you are quite pretty.
Thanks so much for going and being a true colllector.
The showgirl looks quite stunning, I'm surprised I thought it was going to be tacky.
I'll be their next year and my husband and I would love to take you and Jack out to dinner.
just to say thanks for all your hard work for all of us.
I have a question, Is the cupids garden a new solid or did I have a brain freeze and missed that one. [Big Grin] [Big Grin] [Big Grin]
Thanks again I am so pumped for the new ones I need to stop shopping and start saving. [Razz] [Razz] [Wink]

Lisa, Jack is going to hate me but - I saw a pair of shoes today that would go great with the Paradise Flower necklace! How about coming over and we'll go shopping?!?!?
It looked as though everyone had a ball over there. I have booked myself a wee trip to London next month to get over the pain of not getting to Vegas. Right now I am suffering from eyestrain trying to see which solids were on the tables. I wish I could have blown the pictures up even more. The champagne lunch sounded like fun. In fact I'm wondering if you actually got any sleep when you were there at all. Oh well, 52 weeks to go to the next one!

Wow Lisa and Jack
Well done on all your efforts to keep us up to date [Big Grin]
What a fantastic job you both did!
I agree with everyone Lisa, and must say how great and healthy you look!
I'd give up all my solids to have lovely white teeth like yours [Big Grin]
I am so jealous of you all and I think I would have enjoyed the Vegas convention even more than the Orlando one!
I have made up my mind to go to next years one!
Thanks for all the pictures I will buy the Showgirl after all as I think she looks great, if not a little large at the biceps! (who am I to judge!) [New Laugh]
Safe journey home [Wink]
