I just noticed on an auction I bid on the shipping charges were $10.00! The seller and I are both in the US. Piority mail is only $4.00! How can this be? I never paid much attention to shipping charges before but I will from now on. Sorry, I just had to unload.

Yes, unfortunately some sellers make money off of the shipping charges. It is always important to check terms of an auction.
If there is an item that I really want and the shipping is excessive I will email before hand and ask for priority.

Yes I have been charged a lot for shipping, in
one case $15. But it was packaged. Tons of
styrofoam in a big box, for a little solid. Always
talk to seller about how you want it packaged. I
am sure it is a lot of trouble to buy the materials and pack to ship. I request a small padded envelope and wrap in bubble paper. I remember reading a funny comment from a seller. She said "sure I could put a stamp on the necklace and mail it".
