OUCH. EL has re-issued the Carousel for Neiman Marcus at a price of $499. Exclusivity, collectability, value and fun have given way to mass profit. Bye bye EL, I am no longer your customer.

Hi Ar. I received the info too yesterday with pics of about 10 solids that were being "reproduced". These were all existing items. Including the carousel. I think this is old stock that's found and being re marketed. EL would not put the production money into producing just a limited number of pieces. As least, that's my thought. I'm going to do some research!

Thanks, I'm curious to know what you can find out! Maybe there's an EL vault somewhere and they lost the key for a decade or two. LOL

Hello my dear friends,

I just came back to read the latest posts looking to find some interesting discussions about the latest activities on eBay. One of the sellers posted for sale 7 (seven) Imperial Princesses with some other ivory solids and three Christmas Camellias. What do you think? I examine the solids closely and I believe that this is a massive counterfeits... Please look for the eBay item numbers: 231645895424, 231645895891.....

All my best,
Galina

PS: Lisa, Bridgette where are you?

Wow! That was quite a find and they look totally legit, the seller listed a number of other vintage pieces. Sorry i missed it!! I'm still intrigued by th "new" carousel, etc. I was told they were indeed limited edition new production, I still don't believe it. :-).

Well gang, I stand corrected on the carousel. It is in fact being redone as a "2015" release along with the bird cage (with different colored bird) and the golden bow. I'm very surprised, but obviously no new ideas. Th carousel is identical from what I can tell, but of course price at $495. I will not be buying but enjoy my old one. I have th color brochure inset I'll try and scan to include.

Wow !  That's news indeed !!

What other ones are being re-introduced again ?

I stopped being an EL solid customer a few years ago, but still enjoy their older creations very much.

Can't think why they would do this . . . .

I have to admit that I am not happy with the old ones being "upgraded" this year.

Yes, there is a seller who must be selling off a large collection about which they

know anything re values or anything else.  Not complaining, I have picked up some

I wanted for a very good price.

Seems I have been missing all the news.   Thanks to Daisy, I have now reappeared after an absence due to torn ligaments etc., and hacked computer.

Not good news re the Carousel!   Will have to look.  They were expensive when first released and it is one I have never managed to purchase.   The Imperial Princess, will have to look at that too.   Presumably these are buyers/sellers from the States and not U.K.

I treasure my old solids but have got rid of the cameos etc.      Also am keeping my Harrods collection.    Either way, we have the Convention coming up soon, i.e. 26th September and alot of you folks from the other side of the pond will be coming and then making your way to Paris, France.

Woody, why aren't you coming this year?   Promises to be he biggest thus far ...................

Nice to see some of the faces still on the site.   Things can only get better!    I have resigned from being a director on our board block, here so hopefully can get back into all of this again full time!

Sandra, I missed your birthday but my computer was hacked and I lost addresses etc.    It has been a nightmare.   Now struggling with Windows 10 after a disasterous time with Windows 8.2

Hopefully now I can continue with laptop (as I learn).

Lisa and Jack where are you??????   Ann and Ken, and the list goes on and on..............xx

Hello Petals and Butterflies1219, great to see you back Petals, although I too am a returner!!!  It would be great to see more people using the site again.

I have started collecting the odd solid again, generally the ones I didn't have first time round.  I have picked up some including the mermaid, ballerina shoes and tutu.  I love these three, but I think on the top of my wishlist is the showgirl.
