Hello everyone,

I know that Saks Balharbour sends the solids abroad.

Ask for Miss Gini, she is an outstanding person and surely will be of help.

Here is here phone # 001 305 865 1100 Ext. 362

(the 001 I have to dial from Switzerland, I think it's o.k. for all Europe, but I don't know what you will have to dial from Australia).

here e-mail address msgini4u@yahoo.com

Hope this helps, Brigitte

Hi Ann & Ken,

shouldn't it be the SAKS 55th anniversary????

The 50th was in 1998 and they had issued the SAKS hatbox.

Wow!
Looks like we may have some winners here....
Martha guessed the peacock, monkey and made metion of a perfume bottle
Nancy guessed a fan.

We will have to wait for the official list. [Eek!]
Stay tuned!

WOW! I can't wait to see these. They all sound great. Does anyone know if there would be any chance of prototypes being on show at the IPBA convention?

Ron,

There are four types of Youth Dew bottles:

1.blue rubber like coating on outside of bottle
2.rectangular clear bottle that holds the YD splash (like the bath oil bottle)
and the most popular
3.tall bottle with gold bow around the middle and gold cap.
4. teardrop shaped bottle that the pure perfume come in.

Lisa, you are right. I did guess the Monkey, but only wished for the peacock. The Martha from Hickory, NC guessed the perfume bottle. I think it's time we changed my name on this site to stop the confusion between the two Marthas. Since this is an international site, what about changing my name to Marta? Can you do this for me? Thanks.

In rereading some of the posts about members' picks for 2003, I came across Brigitte's comment about how much she liked the older, enamel solids. I have to agree. I only recently displayed my collection in a curio and have to admit that my eye is drawn to the older pieces. They are stunning and hope that EL adds some retro pieces in the future.

Martha,

How about adding your middle or last initial to your name? [Wink]

Hi Ron and Lisa, I recieved a copy of a picture of the Youth Dew Bottle Solid. It is shaped like #3 in Lisa's post, Tall gold bottle with gold bow. It also has crystals on the bow and I am told that it stands up on its own.

Hi Brigitte, For your question I think the Hatbox may have been for the anniversary of Saks being open and This Youth-Dew Golden Anniversary 2003 solid is to commemorate the 50th year of Youth-Dew being in production. Estee Lauders first fragrance in 1953.

Hi Everyone,

I have read that a special edition Youth Dew Solid Perfume in the container as described with the gold crystal bow, will be on sale here at selected Debenham Stores in time for Mothering Sunday in the U.K. i.e. 30th March.

Hope this helps!

I had heard that the 2003 solids were known, but it was top secret. WE have great detectives on this site [Cool] The roller coaster sounds great! I will need to see the others to make up my mind. I didn't buy all the pieces in 2002, and probably will pick and choose this year as well. I used to buy them all, but now with so many and the $$$$$$$$, I buy just what I personally like.

I agree with Ron, getting too expensive to afford every piece they design now and I'm limiting my choices to ones I like best! It saddens me because I'd like to have every piece made each year, but that would run around $3,000 annually these days! (Better invested in an IRA!!)) LOL [Cool]
