I was so happy that my husband has bought me this years Harrods Palace as a Christmas gift. tongue.gif It looks very nice and I just wonder maybe getting the previous one will make a more complete collection rolleyes.gif ??

But before searching for one, I would like to ask around first how would the 2 Harrods Palace compared to each other? Do they look very similar and is it worth it to buy both? Please give me some advice....And it would be best if any kind collector here could share with us a picture with both palaces standing side by side? laugh.gif

thanks Brigitte for the nice and detail photo.

The 2006 has the Harrods sign and green stones ( I beilieve should be the shade )looks more dimensional.

I personally prefer the 2006 version.

Both looks similar from a distance. I wonder what is the size difference if you put 2 together.

I personally prefer the first Palace. I prefer the green baguette stones to the
small green enamel decoration.

If anyone is looking for the first edition, I have one MIB.

Anyway, whichever one you choose, may it bring you a great deal of pleasure.
I will not part with the one I have for myself but doubt I will buy the second
release.

Thank you Brigitte for taking the time and trouble to post pictures of both Palaces

Dear Brigitte and all,

Thank you so much for the pics and all the advice. From Brigitte's pics, seems to me the 2 palaces look quite similar and the only difference would be the green enamel (from 2006) and crystal (from 2005). Thank a lot for sharing laugh.gif

Just one more question, sometimes I saw people posting the previous version for sale, it comes with a clear stand with "Harrods" written on it. Obviously the 2006 version that I have doesn't come with a similar stand. May I ask if the stand is for sale separately? If so, how much is that? rolleyes.gif

The first Palace came with the Stand which has the Harrods Logo on the front and
is necessary to display the item in its full glory! I believe the second Palace also
has a Stand, but I am not sure although I have seen and held the item.

If your husband purchased this from Harrods, then you should contact them as the stand (if there is one) is an integral part of this solid!

Hope this helps! smile.gif

Oh no! sad.gif

Thanks Jacky for the reply. I wonder if anyone here has purchased this year's Palace could give me a hint whether it comes with the stand?! Please help!

I do believe that the Palace would look much more gorgeous on the stand!! My husband still has the receipt with him if that helps... unsure.gif

Both Palaces sell/sold for the same price i.e. 350 Sterling. Apologies Brigitte for
answering a question addressed to yourself! I have only just realised!

Hope this helps.

Thanks all for the replies. Hope all of you had a great holiday ... ALL THE BEST FOR THE NEW YEAR laugh.gif

Brigitte, may I ask whether the two versions are differed in sizes? What's your opinion whether its worthwhile to own both given that they are comparatively pricy (if they look very much the same, I would say no... wink.gif )

thanks again!

According to my opinion they used the same mold and just changed the line where the stones are placed.
If you should have both of them????? Well, I'm the wrong person to be asked, as I buy every solid or powder compact they issue.
Have a great day, Brigitte
