Hi everyone, I am looking for inspiration!!!!
Our nephew will be 18 next month but he is a kid who has had a very privelaged life, private schools, new car for Christmas etc etc etc
We of course are the poor side of the family so I am at a bit of a loss.
When I was 18 (many moons ago), a friend gave me a large card with 18 "essential" items in eg a needle and thread, a penny for the toilets, a plaster.
I was wondering if I could do something like this, but an 18 year old these days has a very different outlook on life.
So for all of you out there could I have your thoughts and help

I know from experience $$money$$ in a birthday card.
That way you don't waste yours buying something they don't want or like.
Works every time and everyone is happy.

Does he have a hobby or collect anything?
Are you arty or crafty and can make him something so it's special to him?
Otherwise, a very difficult ask !! What about a interactive DVD game?

I had a thought yesterday, what if I make something like a book with things that have happened on his birthday every year since he was born.
Then of course I would need to know how to access archives - does anyone know if Newspapers have this facility on the web????

I might have to steal that one from you one day!
Good thinking, 99 !
