I've been trying to think where the Bulldog looked familiar from and having a quick look again made me think back to cartoons. Maybe I'm wrong but in the Popeye cartoons, didn't Bluto have a dog like that? laugh.gif

I agree. I am disappointed in the bear. And I do not care for the "20 years" on the bear's foot either.

And Lisa, I completely agree with what you said about collecting solids is not what is used to be. I don't have the anticipation and excitement I used to get when solids were on the verge of being released. I really miss that feeling.

Unlike everyone, I like the Bulldog. (Am I weird?)
It's quite different from other dogs. Since this one is not cute(!), it is very new to the solid collection. Well, I should have said 'I'm interested' rather than 'I like'.

Again, am I weird?? ph34r.gif

I hope that you are not weird Erica, because I happen to really like the Bulldog too. And I have been very critical about Harrod's solids calling them tacky (because of the way they promote Harrod's rather than being beautiful solid perfume compacts). OK, so the Bulldog has a small tag attached to his collar with the Harrod's logotype but in this case I can make an exception tongue.gif

Erica and Karin,

I too really like the Bulldog and please never be afraid to express your opinions even if they are against the majority. It is important!

Yeah - don't be put off if people express other opinions to your own. These things are a matter of taste, and I don't mind being disagreed with at all!!

If you like it, then great - say so!! Don't feel like your in a majority or minority about anything. I am sure they would be loads of people who agree with you either way.

I'm sure the poor little Bulldog pup has plenty of admirers . . . . even though I think he is ugly. . . laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif Hey - I'm joking!! laugh.gif

Dear KK and Nancy,

I also thought that was unusal that you could recalled Popeye's dog's name.
So, I checked Google and there is a guy who has a website denoted to Popeye's
Trivia. Now can you believe after all these years, someone would give a Hoot about Popeye!
Still Smiling!!! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Just got the photo of the Harrods guard.

It is not the beefeater. It is a palace guard in his little guard house.
The guard with the red jacket ,black pants and tall black hat.

The beefeater would have been much more colorful . sad.gif

The picture is to small to reproduce here but it should not be long before better photos are out.

Cannot say I am too enthusiastic about the Bear either! He does look like Giles and I do agree with many of the comments previously. As always, would like to see this one in person before I make a final comment.

As for the Bulldog, will have to see this one too! I think a Union Jack across his chest emblazoned with crystals (in the same vein as the English Emblem), would have been an idea??????????

With regard to the newly released solids, i.e. the Dragon, Parasol, Lanterns etc., will look to see if there is another heading for these before writing. wink.gif
