Hi everyone, I've been watching the themes being discussed again and it set me off thinking about some personal things, dreams, ambitions I have. cool.gif

Here are some of them, in no particular order

Lean to play the piano again

Set foot on Mount Everest (no not the summit, I know my limitations) ohmy.gif

Visit Machu Pichu

Take the next step speaking French to really become fluent blink.gif

See TOM JONES live in Las Vegas (we never seem to coincide with his appearances. Of course I would have to pop into Victorias Secret for something appropriate to throw on the stage - I doubt he'd appreciate my Bridget Jones!!!!) huh.gif

Finish writing my book mad.gif

Re-marry Paul every year tongue.gif

Oh of course, get all the EL solida/compacts I like laugh.gif

Well they are just off the top of my head - who else daydreams??????

Caroline

What an interesting subject, Caroline!
I feel I never daydream don't have time...,
I have always longed to go back out West,
and also find a secluded log cabin where no one
would find me for a month of Sundays.

Caroline, you always come up with the most thought-provoking topics:

I would very much like to learn the fundamentals of photography (having been inspired by some great photography on this site), so have taken the first step and signed up for an 8-week course on-line starting next Wednesday.

Here are some others:

Spend a summer in Bar Harbor, Maine.

Hike the Appalachian Trail.

See the American West (Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, and the Snake River)

Walk amongst the thistle on a Scottish moor (of course, Iíd have to be careful of werewolves)

Attend an opera at LaScala

Attend next yearís convention in Las Vegas!

Martha C,
You are singing my song. You'll be my new best friend. You know I love all those things you mentioned. When I first saw the topic I thought I would like to visit Maine. The online photo courses are good but the photo website are very helpful. They critiques taught me so much. Try posting your photos weekly to one of the following sites and ask for feedback.
www.webaperture.com
www.betterphoto.com
www.harphampix.com
I think webaperture is the easiest one. I got Charlotte to post there. I've seen her photos from time to time. There are many photosites Kodak has one. This are the ones I use.
I want to finish my journey down the Mississippi River, visit ALL the National Parks, and tour the AlCan Highway. This is my short list.
Oh, and of course, collect ALL the EL solids ever made!!!!!!!!!!! laugh.gif laugh.gif
PS to reach a 1000 posts by the end of the year! ohmy.gif wink.gif

We would like to:

Take the train across Canada in the fall

Move to live just east of Knoxville, Tennessee in the Smoky Mountains

Live in the islands for at least 4 months every winter.

Spend more time exploring England and Europe with our daughter

Meet everyone here in Vegas next summer. smile.gif

I have made a lot of the things I've dreamt of so the things remaining are the more difficult dreams to realize:

Learning German, French and Italian
Travel to Japan
Having a Japanese garden
Starting my own museum (with solids, compacts and handbags) tongue.gif

I have too many dreams; some are forgotten. The ones I remember:

visit all 50 states (I went to 32 so far)

buy a house - My ultimate dream is to buy one in my immediate area and/or in The Heights. sad.gif dry.gif In reality, I can only afford a house 45mins-1.5 hrs away from downtown/galleria areas.

move to Washington state !! smile.gif

have talent in anything - The only thing I'm good at is being quiet. unsure.gif I wish I could sing, have great buisness savy or good people skills.

speak any other language fluently (Spanish would be very helpful)

have a prestigious career

have an exciting dynamic life

have a complete or almost-complete collection of something like EL solids - I do have an extensive collection of Houston postcards -- almost 300; I have more than the downtown public library. I'm still missing at least a half dozen of the rare ones. The imperial princess shows up more often than these cards.

This is my wish list.......

Visit the Rose City of Petra ( Jordan )

Go to Venice ( on the doorstep as regards distance, the flights are cheap but the accommodation is so expensive )

Go back to Jerusalem ( spent a short time there a few years ago and I have always wanted to go back to see more )

When my husband and I got married in Vegas I was married with my Grandmothers wedding ring, we said then that on our 10th anniversary we would go back on the same date, buy me a ring of my own and have a ring blessing ceremony......3 years to go.

GO TO THE CONVENTION NEXT YEAR ( ONE WISH THAT WILL COME TRUE )

As you can see most of my daydreams are about travel, I have always had the wanderlust. My Husband retires in 2years time and we are counting the days, so god willing we will be able to do all the things we want.

Daydreams and aspirations are good things to have and a lot of the time you can make them come true.

HAPPY DAYDREAMING TO ALL....... wub.gif wub.gif wub.gif wub.gif

I love this topic! I would like to travel all over Europe. biggrin.gif
I would like to learn to ride a motorcycle (oh, wild me) cool.gif
I would like to retire to Cape Cod, on the bay side, and open a small seasonal shop of some kind. tongue.gif biggrin.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

I wish I could speak other languages and I've taken classes but I have no ear for it and have a very hard time with it. My husband speaks French but I think it's because his family is French and it was spoken in his house when he was a small boy.

Martha,
I LOVE photography. I print my own color enlargements in the darkroom. Here's a website with one of my contest winners (scroll halfway down when you get there):

Caroline,
I hope you get to Macchu Pichu. If you do, be sure to stay overnight. When the day tourists leave, it is one of the most mystical places ever. I loved it. The early morning mist rising, the llamas wandering, ancestors spirits resonate in the silence... truly inspiring.

Ar,

Your photo of the Poppies is wonderous. Congratulations on taking first prize in what appears to be a most prestigous photo contest. I am so impressed with your talent and appreciate you sharing this photo with us. Let's see more!
