There's a handful of people who will "buy the store out", so they want to prevent this. I believe they should answer customer questions no matter what. Also, if they wish to restrict purchases, why not allow you to buy one of each design? That way you can buy whatever you want without leaving the store dissappointed (except for resellers or collectors who love multipules).

I strongly believe The Cosmetics Store and/or Estee Lauder don't want you to pay discounted prices; they want you to pay full retail price. It's like this store is Top Secret hush hush--nobody must know about it. On the other hand, if they don't want you to get 10-30% off, they shouldn't have created this option. It would be easier for them to just leave the solids at the department stores and never have a sale. [Frown]

Plus....

Call me crazy, but I thought retail stores WANT to sell their merchandise. [Confused]

Yes, Greyhound

I agree with you. [Razz]
Solids should only be available in the Departmant stores, not the Cosmetic Company stores and not for sale at the Estee Lauder warehouse sales.
I cringe when I see the solid that I paid full price for at the CCS [Frown]

Can anyone tell me which solids would still be available in the US stores? Just last years 2002 releases or can you still buy older ones? [Puzzled]

Hi Lisa, you are right about cringing when you see something at a reduced price. I have just seen something I bought for my daughter at Christmas reduced by 75%. But you know what? I bought another one. It's like, is the glass half full or half empty.
We have to buy full price if we really, really love the item as we cannot take the chance that we can get it later at a reduced rate. I just wish I had places like the cometic stores here. Once I pay for my air fare I would need to buy a lot of solids to break even!

Sorry Lisa, meant to add to my last post that I too thank you for the list. There are some I missed as the stores had sold out by the time I got to them. I may give Micky a call, just don't tell my husband!

Fee,

I think Donna means the wedding cake and cowgirl.

Patricia,

Micky works at the Estee Lauder store in NY.
