Nancy,

Yup, it's true, females do have antlers too. Here's some interesting reading on our Prancing Reindeer:Reindeer information

Good heavens, the things you learn on this site! I always thought it was the male who had the antlers!
Still think he/she could do with a bit more sparkle though!

It's true- break out the Trivial Pursuit! laugh.gif

Here's something else interesting- a snowflake has 6 sides or branches. Our sparkling snowflake only has 5 sides or branches. blink.gif

Snow is formed by ice crystals that gather around dust or other particles below freezing.
Snowflakes are made up of many crystals that multiply from one seed crystal.
Snowflakes look white because of reflections off the crystals' many faces.
Snowflakes have six sides or six points.
Most have symmetry -- vertical, horizontal, or both.
No two snowflakes are alike.

Nancy is right they should have spent more time thinking the "Prancing Reindeer."
A coat of sparkling rhinestones under the neck would have been nice.
Of course, E.L. doesn't run it by us first, too bad, huh!

I voted for the owl, it's kind of cute. I am disappointed with the reindeer, it is too sturdy. Reindeers are very gracious animals with big hooves and they definitely don't have that grim look in their eyes. By the way, the females antlers are a lot smaller than the males, it is very easy to tell the difference if you happen to run into a herd of them wink.gif We have an outdoor museum here in Stockholm where they also keep Scandinavian animals, that is where I am getting my knowledge from.

I had to edit this post beacuse I visited the museums website:

www.skansen.se

Click on other languages and then on animals and they have the cutest picture of a reindeer calf. Under the Swedish pages you will find other cute animal pictures if you click on everything that says DJUR, i.e. Swedish for animal.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the pictures Lisa,
I like the snowflake best followed by the Cameo.
I was dissapointed in the reindeer (i was so looking forward to this solid) I think it could have been more christmassy (If there is such a word).
It may look better in person though.

I love the Owl but a little worried that the white enamel might turn yellow like the other solids we have had trouble with.

The reindeer will get a itty bitty Christmas wreath around his neck when he gets here. biggrin.gif

The Snowflake looks good IF the crystal front is NOT cheapy plastic. ohmy.gif

The Cameo is interesting and a nice change. biggrin.gif

The gift package looks like the vintage ones only adding the red bottom.
That one can wait for the warehouse sales. laugh.gif laugh.gif

All in all they are not to bad this year. And maybe they will look better in person.

Ann

laugh.gif laugh.gif As you know I have a bad habit of doing that. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Remember the year I put the poodle in a little bucket with bubbles( beads) taking a bath??? And gee - low and behold EL came out with little mutt dog taking a bath.
At least my bubbles didn't turn yellow. laugh.gif

EL did buy one of my designs but they have not used it yet.

Yes Lisa, you are right. Snowflakes always have six branches and it's just too ridiculous to create one with only five sides. Else I could have warmed up to it blink.gif

Glad you picked up on it too... it's not a snowflake it's a star. I'm going to rename it- Sparkling Star laugh.gif Actually it makes more sense, OK I feel better!

The designers didn't do their research.

I would be more than happy to be a solid consultant for EL, will work for solids! laugh.gifseriously

Yeah - do tell!! cool.gif Cool break, Ann - good one for selling it to them!! Sincerely hope it comes to fruition for you, (not only so you can gloat on here, but so that we can gloat that we know you and get your autograph!! laugh.gif).

Someone ought to take you up on your offer, Lisa . . . . or they might be sorry when you branch out and make your own solids one day!!

Hey now, that's a thought for the site!! biggrin.gif

Sandra,

Believe it or not I have had my own solid perfume planned for some years now, even have it all sketched out. It's really cute and someday will post my drawing.
