Hello All - I stumbled across this site quite accidentally. A bit about myself - I worked for Estee Lauder in their officces in the UK for 8 years, I loved my job and visiting the staff shop - where they would 'hide' solid perfumes for me! I left EL to move to the US and was heartbroken. Mind you when I visit the UK I am allowed to visit the staff shop but it is pot luck as to what they have in there. I also collect Estee Lauder compacts, they are all on display in a glass cabinet that my husband bought me for Christmas.

Hi Kim,

We also collect the EL powder compacts. [Big Grin]

Some of the early solids were sold with a matching powder compact and we were trying to match our solids with the matching compact and got hooked on the powders as well. [Big Grin]

Welcome,
Ann & Ken

Hi Ann & Ken - I started collecting them because they were there!! They looked pretty and naturally working for the company, the price was good! How long have you been collecting for?

Ann & Ken

How many solid compacts have matching powder compacts?
I would be interested in knowing which ones they were.

Kim,

What are your favorites?

Lisa - everyone asks which are my favourites and I find it really hard to choose one, but I guess the ferris wheel, the globe, the polar bear, the top hat, just to mention but a few! [New Laugh]

I am not sure. Imformation is hard to come by.
Would you like some photos posted here of some of the ones that we have???

I do know I have a compact that matches a solid that you have. Wanna trade. [Razz]

Hi Kim,

Welcome!

Perhaps you can answer a question for me as you have worked with E.Lauder here in the U.K.

Why is it such an uphill struggle to make contact and receive replies from E.Lauder personnel?

I deal with E.Lauder reps in the States and find them far more accommodating and helpful than their counterparts here. I hate to say this, but it is a fact as far as my personal experience is concerned.

Would love to know how they consider those people interested in buying their solid perfumes. I have spent a great deal of money here, but if I were to spend that on cosmetics, their attitude would be different and they would have been plying me with samples etc.

Sorry, but I am basing this on my own experience. Cannot speak for anyone else!

Hi Jacqueline - sorry to hear that you don't get responses from the EL personnel, can't think why - do you know who in particular you have been trying to contact and what was it about - may be I can point you in the right direction.

I don't know which one of mine you are talking about [Puzzled]
Let me know
