Hi Lisa,
This is a fantastic shot. Really looks great. The base isn't THAT bad. The sign is stuck in the sand anyway. LOL!
Hmmmmmm.......I might change my mind. tongue.gif

KK,

That is true about the sand so you got me thinking- sand would have been good for the base- something like the tiny pebbles in the pot of the cactus solid.

From the poll results, seems like overall the sign meets general approval. I think that it will be a great one to have because of the provenance tied to it...the 100th anniversary.

LISA:

I SEE THE NICE PIC OF YOUR NEW VEGAS SOLID.....I AGREE WITH YOU !!! THE BASE IS LOUSY AND I AM SHOCKED THEY DID NOT FINISH THE BACK!! I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THE BACK WOULD LOOK THE SAME AS THE FRONT!!
AND THE PRICE IS WAY TOO HIGH FOR HOW THEY MADE IT....IF THEY HAD "FINISHED" THE PIECE IT WOULD BE WORTH THE 250......

ANYWAY, FOR THE MOST PART THEY HAVE DONE A GREAT JOB ON A LOT OF THE SOLIDS.....ENJOY YOUR NEW ADDITION TO YOUR COLLECTION!! YOU ARE GETTING QUITE A COLLECTION GOING!!

REGARDS,
PAMELA

I like your dice idea Lisa. If EL comes out with a pair of dice 18 months from now, we will know where they got the idea!!!

Getting back to topic, I have thought long and hard about getting this solid and have deceided like Sandra not to buy one. Totally agree with the yucko base, unfinished back and price for it.
However, and I know this is just "me", what really bothers me about this one is the color of the crystals surrounding the outline of the sign itself. From the wonderful pictures Don and Margaret and Lisa submitted, my eyes are seeing the color of them are clear. The actual Vegas sign has yellow lights surrounding the edge. Guess I can't get past the different crystal color on the solid from the actual sign. Oh well such it goes, but congratulations to those of you who have purchased one.

Have a good week everyone.
Gigi

Lisa, you're on a ROLL.......get it! LOL! laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif
Now, that would be a fine solid. Hope someone designs it.
I agree with the cactus sand on the LV base. You need to be the design consultant to the solid designers.
Listen up EL "Big Wigs". Big Wigs that must be some British saying.

Just drove past the real sign in Vegas two days ago and are so glad we bought our Estee replica. We love it. wub.gif

Maybe they should have put a bride and groom at the bottom as every time we've gone past the real one there is a couple in wedding togs taking pictures in front of it. laugh.gif

p.s. Killer picture of the sign Lisa!

Dice would be a great one to have. I display my Vegas ones with a set of bone coloured Molinard perfume dice. I'd like to see one of the big wheel's sort of like a chocolate wheel that you see in the casino's. biggrin.gif

Don and Margaret, that's a good idea for a Vegas solid - a Bride and Groom and Elvis marrying them!!!!! biggrin.gif

I would like to see a new slot machine with a totally new design and with enamel instead of the discoloured plastic. A slot machine is a must in a LV solid collection so I find it very sad that the one that has been released is of such poor quality. I love the idea of a pair of dices!!! I still haven't made up my mind on the sign though. The base does bother me and the lack of details too dry.gif

OKAY - My solid is now in my hands and I think it's growing on me. When I first took it out of the box - well, frankly, I wasn't very impressed. I thought it would "glitter" more and it didn't look like it would stand - like it was unbalanced. But then I put it in my display case with the other LV solids and it looks really good there. My husband really likes it. Also, it doesn't seem to be unbalanced, like I thought it would be. I still think the cost is a bit high for what it is. They should've finished the back of it. All in all, I like the way it displays with the other solids, but I don't think it stands alone well.
