Thomas The Newborn
Posted 08 December 2004 - 11:21 AM
William, the sensitive and refined one, bemoaned, "But we haven't been to Napa Valley yet. I wanna tour a vineyard and stay at a bed & breakfast."
Giles, the shopaholic, whined, "What about Sausalito and all the neat boutiques. I wanna go shopping!"
Thomas, the little precious one (and also the crybaby), chimed in, "We can't leave without the Magic Lantern. I wanna see the Genie again!"
Rodney, the oldest and wisest, just shook his head. What was an older brother to do? He knew he had to concentrate on getting his little bear family to Las Vegas, but he regretted that William and Giles had tossed the lantern as it could of come in handy.

You see, Thomas was still fascinated with the Genie and found the Magic Lantern in the Laundry Bin. Being the mischievous bear he was, he didn't tell anyone because he wanted it all for himself.
Giles insisted again about making a stop to Sausalito to they could see all those cool boutiques and maybe buy a few things.
So the Brothers went back on the Trolley to catch a Locomotive to get to their destination before going to Vegas.
"Stop, Stop!" screamed Thomas, the baby bear. "I see a Zoo, I want to see the Zoo!" he yelled at the top of his Beary Lungs.
Rodney shook his head and thought to himself "well, Thomas is a baby and he never did see a Zoo before." So the brothers decided to pamper their baby brother and into the Zoo they went, being careful not to go near the Bear Cages.
William was upset because he wanted to stop at Napa Valley, but who was he to argue with his brothers?
They first stopped at the Tiger Cage where Thomas laughed and laughed at this Dopey Tiger that was playing.....

But the day would not be complete without seeing the Legendary Lions!! On there way there they saw some pigs, both sitting and standing and the Zebra.
"Drats!", Rodney thought, if we were in the Sydney Zoo, we could've seen the Koalas, Polar bears, Penguins and Panda bears! "Oh well, maybe another time!" he said to himself.
He headed to the ticket office and bought tickets to the Seaworld show. The brothers enjoyed the show and watching Thomas laugh and laugh at the Juggling Seal bouncing the ball on its nose.
"What a day! So many beautiful solids, so many more to see"
Exhausted, the boys continued on their journey . . . . they had to be in Vegas by Friday to catch Uncle Bob and Lola.

This time, his brothers had put their Paws down and told Thomas "No more, you have seen enough, and we must continue so you can meet Uncle Bob and Aunt Lola!"
Goodness, Rodney was really losing his patience with Thomas, and with a grumpy look on his face, he took Thomas's hairy hand, and pulled him along with the rest of the group....

Rodney's impatience began to get the better of him and he began to turn into a Grizzly Bear . . . .
William and Giles saw the signs and thought they should leg it . . .
But wouldn't ya know it, the Genie turned up and transported them by a Magic Dragon through Yosemite where they saw Squirrels and bunnies and butterflies and ladybugs to the magic world of Disneyland where they took a Hot Air Balloon ride above the Kingdom!!
Thomas was happy beyond words!! No more plop, plop, plops from his face - he was marvelling at the world beneath him - they all were!!
Soon the ride was over and they came back to land.
"Phew"!! said Rodney, wiping his paw across his brow - he had stopped frowning and being grumpy through the wild ride. "That was some flight, huh?"

KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK!! Rodney woke up first to the sound of someone banging on their door and quickly put on his robe only to find the Manager at their door.
"Listen you animal, the people in the room next to you didn't get any sleep so far because of you and your friends!!" stated the Manager. "Now either be quiet or go find another Hotel." "Yes Sir, we will quiet down, I promise you" answered Rodney.
Quietly Rodney closed the door and looked fondly at his brothers who were still snoring. He was trying to think of something that would quiet them down as they did need their sleep so they would be energized to make the trip to Vegas.
Rodney scratched his chin and couldn't think of anything, so he decided to take a walk outside the Hotel to get some fresh air. It was still dark out, the air was brisk and refreshing. But he was getting sleepy again when he spotted an ENCHANTED MUSHROOM.
He picked the MUSHROOM and after smelling it he felt even more sleepy thus he knew that this would do the trick! After all, the Mushroom was enchanted...
So Rodney brought the Mushroom back into his Room and put it in the center of the room hoping that his brothers would quiet down...

One by one the bears became animated in their sleep and started moving and kicking around!!
Giles was dreaming that he was a famous Matador and was bull fighting in front of a Flamenco Dancer; William was dreaming that he was in Egypt with the Sphinx in the background. He was searching for lost pharoahs, and little Thomas (God bless him!) was dreaming that he was spinning around and around on the Carousel. He was riding the horse like a little Cowboy and was pretending to lasso a steer.
Rodney had also drifted off again and he was dreaming he was marching in a big parade wearing his star-spangled hat and beating the drum with baton twirlers all around him!!
Suddenly they were all jolted awake by the alarm clock going off!!
It was time to get a move on - they had to cross the Wild West to get to Nevada by nightfall!! Rodney and his brothers rubbed there sleepy eyes awake and rubbed their tummies eagerly . . . . after so much action, they were hungry!!

As they waited for someone to come to their table, they decided to get Stacks of Pancakes with lots of Honey after the night they had with their exotic dreams.
"Hee, ha, hee, ha" crackled an old lady, "what can I get you boys?" she asked as she danced around (maybe she smelled the Enchanted Mushroom too)
"Pancakes with lots of Honey!!" answered the Bears.

He said he had prepared a Picnic Basket for the bears. It included Luscious Fruits like Golden Pineapple and Green Apples, Pears, Red Cherry, Marvellous Melon and Lime Wedges. The food was ready and they only had to step on the Magic Carpet to take them to their next stop - Vegas!! They could eat on the way.
Well!! Rodney gave Thomas a slap on the back for being such a good boy and off they went!!
When the waitress and the diner reappeared, she was stunned that they bears had disappeared!! She looked under the table and everywhere!! NO bears!!
