Hi Jacky, sorry I didn't get to read this until now. I've been quite busy so have been off-line for a while. I guess I'm making up for lost time as I feel as though I have been ill for most of this year so far. It was only in March I started to feel alive again so have been socialising and getting out and about again.
I won't make it to the AGM but I believe the convention will be in the same hotel so please, please, please give it the once over for us! Take a pair of white gloves! ohmy.gif

The hotel where the AGM was held today, which there is a good chance will host the Convention in October in London, appears to be satisfactory. especially after reading your comments Nancy on the previous hotel. The facilities for the dealers, general cleanliness etc., plus accessiblility from the Airport (a transfer bus every 35 minutes to and from Heathrow) should encourage members from overseas to participate.

Everyone was very friendly and the hope is that there will be many dealers flying in for the Convention.

This is a short post to get you all thinking about a trip here!

Jacky, I would love to come to England in October if only to meet you, Margaret and Nancy and the other international members. If I wasn't working, I would come. Of course, if I wasn't working, I couldn't afford to come. rolleyes.gif

P.S. Caught bits and pieces of Charles and Camelia's wedding today. Loved the hats!!!

cool.gif Hi Martha, I wasn't going to bother as I have gone off the royals in recent years but, like you, I checked out the fashion. I loved the coat she wore for the blessing. Maybe EL could do a 'copy' like the Ballet TuTu. biggrin.gif What do you think???
Since you are interested in the hats does that mean you won that bag we all loved? blink.gif

Nancy, I agree that Camelia's coat was stunning! Was the color oyster? I can picture it hanging on a wire frame like the Tu Tu blink.gif It could be a Harrod's exclusive.

No word on on the EL bag, which is not a good sign since the winner was to be announced on April 7th. sad.gif And, yes, I'd already bought a hat to match. biggrin.gif

HI MARTHA....... smile.gif

HERE IS THE RUN DOWN ON THE DRESS THAT CAMILLA WAS WEARING FOR THE BLESSING, I AM QUOTING ONE OF OUR SUNDAY PAPERS.

SHE CHANGED INTO A PORCELAIN BLUE SILK DRESS WITH FLOOR LENGTH FITTED COAT AND A SMALL TRAIN.
THE SOFT SILK OUTFIT, HAND PAINTED AND EMBROIDERED IN GOLD THREAD. THE GOLD EMBROIDERY WAS ACCENTED AROUND THE NECKLINE AND IN THE DEEP CUT OF THE COAT,CATCHING THE LIGHT AND ADDING GLAMOUR.

THE GOLD FEATHERED HEADRESS WAS TIPPED WITH CRYSTALS. ( NICE BIT OF BLING BLING ) laugh.gif laugh.gif

THE SHOES WERE PALE GREY SHOT SILK WITH GOLD EMBROIDERY ON THE TOE.

THE OUT FIT WAS VERY ELEGANT BUT LIKE NANCY I'M OFF OUR ROYALS mad.gif

REGARDS......MARGARET........

I think that outfit was almost eastern in design. She could have worn a turban with the feathers too. I thought she looked very nice in all her outfits.
She visited the building I work in but I stayed at my desk. My colleagues who met her said she was very nice and down to earth and quite pretty. I do admit the press gave her a very hard time.
Martha, I think that would be a great Harrods solid but given that Dodi died with Diana I doubt that would ever happen!

Can't warm to Camilla or Charles myself - but there you go!

Think they should skip him and leave him to do whatever he wants and pass to William to save the Crown. The royal family have done little to preserve their respect in the last 10 years. It's disappointing after such a remarkable history to virtually end up having to wind up the monarchy which is what I predict happening if Charles becomes King.

William can save the Crown, but sad to say Charles has lost all credibility. sad.gif

wink.gif Well ladies, they won't be coming to the UK Chapter of the IPBA, that's for sure. BUT I hope some of you will.... The more the merrier.

Eighteen people attended, including Phyllis Dohanian from the States.

I am told that they were looking at other hotels so the Comfort Inn at Heathrow may not be the final choice.

Just want to let you all know here, in Europe, and over the ocean, that every endeavour is being made to provide a good standard at reasonable prices plus accessibility for everyone!

What more can I say! IF ANYONE IS THINKING OF ATTENDING, WOULD YOU PLEASE WRITE UNDER THIS HEADING (AND I DO HOPE WE HAVE SOME RESPONSE, EVEN IF THEY ARE ONLY POSSIBLES)!

Jacky, as long as it isn't in any of the Britania group hotels I am sure I'll be there. I just wish I could get to Dallas too though! sad.gif

Me too, Nancy.

Have posted some pictures which I took at the U.K. Chapter Meeting last Saturday. Unfortunately they are not good but at least you might be able to get a glimpse of the Meeting Facilities if the Comfort Inn Hotel, Heathrow, is chosen.

No doubt Nancy, you will recognise some of the people on the photographs. I did not manage to get pictures of everyone. Sorry!

Wish that had been the case Margaret! We were talking about the last Convention and the IPBA subscriptions etc. It went on for ages. Serious stuff and no talk at all about solids! sad.gif

That won't be the case at the Convention though!
