Here is what I think of the 2004 Harrods solids this year.

I will start with my favorite one, the English Emblems, limited to 150 pieces (but wish the actual # was on the solid) I really do love the whole idea of this solid, it displays a nice mix of enamel and crystals. The design and size is fantastic. I love the idea of the large crystal on top and sides of the crown. The one thing I really do not like is that the flag is not finished on the back of the solid. I also do not like the red crystals on the flag itself it looks as if the crystals were enameled over. Other than these two things a great solid!

Harrods Teddy Bear, limited to 300 pieces this solid is so very cute! I still think his outfit looks like PJ's!! The colors are nice on his sweater and I do like the stars and H's. I think it would also be nice to give the bears names every year on the boxes. One thing I noticed is that one of my bears eye looks as if it is not as "set" in as the other eye. Next year I am rooting for a "girl" bear with a dress and feathered hat.

English Postbox, limited to 250 pieces. I am not sure about this solid- I think just because I have never seen a real postbox in person. I do like the nice mix of enamel and crystals. I found this solid almost impossible to open (must be the long nails) Once Jack got it opened I did notice there are pieces of mail and packages inside done in gold. This detail I thought so imaginative and liked this so much!!

rolleyes.gif Great pictures Lisa. I was wondering if Harrods solid perfumes were made with magnets also. Your picture answered that, are they ALL that way? Martha

I only orderd the bear--at least I hope so. My credit card was charged so I'll assume that the bear will arrive sometime in the near future. Anyone know how long it takes for an item to get from UK to CA? LOL

I will post my opinion when the bear arrives.

Lisa,
Your pictures are wonderful! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif Thanks for sharing them with us.

I'm surprised to hear that the flag only has stones on one side??? Is the other side all goldtone?

I have ordered all three solids and I look forward to receiving them. These will be my first EL solids from Harrods.

I think having seen them, that the Harrods Solids are to die for!
I really do think they are the best that Harrods have produced so far, even though the Harrods Palace is magnificent!

The Pillar Box is a delight! The Crown is absolutely incredible and the bear is sweet and cute! The colours are amazing! And these solids are even more limited in number this year.

I looked at them next to the Strongwater and quite honestly, I think they knock spots off everything!

SO WELL DONE HARRODS. BRILLIANT! WONDERFUL E.L. PIECES WHICH I AM SURE YOU WILL ALL APPRECIATE!

I just talked to Margaret in London and when she picked up our Harrods solids this morning (yaaay) they gave her an invitation to a meeting with Allison on the 26th to see the Christmas solids. Hmmm. ph34r.gif Does anyone know anything about these?

She also got the very last English Emblems solid they had except for the display. biggrin.gif

Her story of her trip from our daughters' apartment in east London (Canary Wharf) on the train and two or three tube changes would have made a good one for Jacky and Martha, smile.gif A country gal loose in the big city, ha
