The one thing that we wish for in this year of the great Grecian Olympics is that there be a spirited and peaceful competition. As Americans we sincerly wish that there are no terrorist attacks of any kind during the next weeks. We would gladly give up all of Americas medals to be, if all of the worlds great athletes can compete in peace and safety.
Good luck to each of the competing countries this year and here's to a great Olympic contest at the original home of the competition.wub.gif

Hear, hear! Well said Don, and may we not lose to any performance enhancing drugs either.

Good luck - and we'll see who can get the first medal! laugh.gif

Naughty! laugh.gif

We have a TV ad about that - it's quite funny - the track stars are running around on a bumpy unfinished track with detour signs while the Greek workmen are enjoying eating whatever it is the hell they're advertising. laugh.gif laugh.gif

I agree - it looked like touch & go there for awhile. Well done Greece.

Don & Margaret did you know that Australia has sent the second largest team of competitors after the U.S. - there could be lots of competition. Our friends are the parents of back-stroke swimmer Matt Welsh so we will be watching the swimming with much interest.

I shall be watching Matt Welsh and cheering him on Karen. Thanks for telling us and now I know the connection, will be rooting for him here!

Love the flags! smile.gif Wondering how many nationalities we have on this site (excluding some who do not post their country .....Jupiter, Mars.... ph34r.gif )!

Karin, will be watching Sweden too. There is a Swedish Church over the road from where I live and our favourite local Restaurant is also Swedish...

Thanks for that Jacky & Sandra. Matt Welsh is not only a great swimmer & a good-looking guy but he is a very nice person as well. A support team of friends left Melbourne about 10 days ago for Athens, calling themselves THE POOS - Parents/Pals of Olympic Swimmers!

Karin - I'm sure Sweden will do well & Good Luck to all Countries Competitors.

Don & Margaret - I love the waving flags, they look fantastic - Can we have some more?

Hi Karen, I watched Matt Welsh this morning, then had to dash out to Brighton. Am wondering what the position is now as I have not been here to see any programmes!

Denise has posted a flag under another heading. Wish I could get some of those!
Do not know how to do this with my computer......
